Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego Museum is located on the Grzybowska street. We can see here “souvenirs” from The Second World War. The exhibition consists of three expositions. The first exposition is on the ground floor. We can see here: time of the occupation and outbreak of the Warsaw Insurrection - “W” hour, the normal everyday life of occupied capital, the German terror. The Palmiry and the Pawiak prison, symbols of that days. In this exposition we can see also “Storm” action and how the Polish Underground Government functioned. In the next room is exposition of printing machines from 1940 year. The museum has special room for children. This room is called “The Room of Young Insurrect”. The room like this is the one in Poland, children can learn here history by watching insurrect theater or by playing role scout’s postman and nurses. The youngest visitors can play using replicas of the old toys, board games and puzzles. The second exposition presents: fights in August and the normal everyday life of occupied Warsaw; massacre of Wola, religious and cultural life, drop and insurrection’s hospital. In the cinema Palladium we can see three insurrection’s chronicle films the Information Office and Propaganda AK. The third exposition presents: fights in September, which took places in the town, the soldiers NSZ and AK and foreigners which take part in Insurrection. The crash of the Warsaw Insurrection and the following events were shown here. Graves of insurrects which are in the separated room called Place of Memory are the most important part of museum. There are also three separated rooms: “Radio stations and Communications”, “Field’s post office” and “German people”. On the first floor is coffee “Pół Czarnej” which looks like coffee from time between World Wars years. |
